McLeansboro’s National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day May 4 2017. The Mayor and Council urge everyone interested in meeting every child’s mental health needs to be aware of the fundamental necessity of a year-round program for children and youth with mental health needs. “Walk the Block” activities, beginning at the Court House, are planned for that day by Unit 10 Schools in association with the Egyptian Health Department to raise awareness. “Healthy people…Healthy Communities!”

City Council meeting moved to Wednesday, May 10 due to a scheduling conflict with the Hamilton County Senior High School Honors program. The regular schedule returns with the meeting in June-Tuesday, June 13th.

Republic Garbage Services will run without interruption of services this month. Please put your totes out the evening before pick-up and remove them from the street-side as soon as possible following pick-up. All trash should be bagged and inside the tote. Republic is not required to accept additional bags of trash at curb-side.

Mowing Season Returns.  Clean and well-kept yards make for happy neighbors, fewer mosquitoes, and good curbside appeal. Please do not send your grass clippings into City streets. And remember, you are responsible for the mowing of your ditch and/or your half of the alley. This Spring gives us another chance to do it right.
