April 2018

Reminder- City Hall is closed Friday, March 30

City-Wide Clean-Up is scheduled for April 30- May 3. Bring your disposables to the Light Plant, 312 West Market Street, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. After hours dumping is prohibited. No chemicals, cans of wet paint, aerosols, electronics, tires or yard waste will be accepted.

We are now taking applications for City Pool life guards. Applications can be downloaded from the City Website, or picked up at City Hall. Tentative opening date for the pool is Saturday, May 26.

Spring catalogues and garden centers tempt us with choices of trees to plant. As you complete the order forms or walk down the aisles at garden centers, please keep in mind that trees should not be planted between sidewalks and streets, or in any other easement; that trees grow up and can cause all kinds of headaches if they’re planted too close to power lines, planted over water/sewer lines, or planted at corners where they can block the view of drivers. The wrong plant in the wrong place can cost you money. Information to help you with your tree and planting location choices can be found on our website or click through the website www.mcleansboro.us>Depts>Electric Department>Tree Trimming Policy. And as always, call 811 before you dig!

Get out and visit one of your parksWe have more public space than most communities our size. Get out and enjoy! Public toilets at our parks, with the exception of Heard’s Pond, are now open. Please report any concerns by phoning or emailing us at City Hall. After hours or week-end concerns should be reported by phoning 643-2511.
