June 2018

McLeansboro Farmers’ Market has opened! The Market meets each Wednesday from Noon until 5:00 pm at the corner of Randolph and Jackson Streets, unless posted otherwise. Registered vendors are not required to have an Itinerant Merchants Permit. Holders of Itinerant Merchants permits are not required to pay registration fees with the Market, but must register to participate. For an application, please visit Farmers’ Market 2018 at www.mcleansboro.us (on the Resident’s page), or stop by City Hall. The Market is a joint venture between the City and the University of Illinois Extension Office with additional support from Illinois Pit Stop and Farm Credit Illinois. We’re excited to work together to bring you opportunities for fresh, local produce and to encourage local growers and makers. For more details about the Market you can phone the Extension at 643-3416, or phone City Hall.

Residential waste collection will run as scheduled for the month.

2017 Consumer Confidence Report is now available online for your review. The report certifies the City Waste Department has met all state and federal requirements for safe drinking water standards. A copy is also posted at City Hall.

June is a great time to explore our parks and enjoy the outdoors. And to make it even friendlier there are no fees for use of the pavilions at Heard’s Pond, Satterfield Kiwanis Park, and Lake McLeansboro! We just ask that you make reservations to avoid disappointments. While you’re out and about, we’re looking for volunteers to help with some special projects this summer pruning and thinning flower beds, and removing common reed from the Rogers-DeWitt “turkey pond.” Please phone us if you’re willing to help with our park projects.
