McLeansboro Farmers’ Market returns Wednesday, May 23. open Noon to 5 PM on Wednesday at the corner of Randolph and Jackson Streets, the market is a joint effort by the City of McLeansboro and the Hamilton County U. of I. Extension Office to provide access for all of our citizens to enjoy fresh, local produce, and to support local, small businesses. Justin Barrow, a City employee, is Market Master. Registered vendors are not required to have an Itinerant merchants Permit. Holders of Itinerant Merchants permits are not required to pay registration fees with the Market, but must register to participate. For an application, please visit Farmers’ Market 2018 at, on the Resident’s page, or stop by City Hall.

Grass Clipping! Please try to minimize the amount of grass clippings discharged onto city streets. Rain washes the clippings down the street where they often clog storm sewer inlets, or build up and clog culverts. Clogged inlets and culverts result in street and yard flooding. As grass clippings may be contaminated with weed killer and/or fertilizer, there is also the risk of polluting our waterways. Did you know our community is part of the Saline River Watershed? Our run-off will eventually enter the Ohio River south of Old Shawneetown at the Gallatin/Hardin County line.
