September 2018

Reminder– City Hall is closed Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day Celebrations.

The McLeansboro Kiwanis Club is anticipating record crowds for Fall Festival this year. Your patience and planning will be necessary to keep things running smoothly as parking around the square will be several blocks deep. East Main Street will be closed Saturday, September 8 for the Fox Hollow Downhill Racing event, and later for the parade line-up. Traffic flow for Main Street south of the Square will be changed on the 7th and 8th.

Mowing season continues! Please mow away from the curb to avoid grass clippings in the street. Grass clippings add up! Washed along they form mats and clog sewer drains, wedge in road/curb cracks and allow for weeds in streets. Besides looking bad it also poses a serious risk to bike riders. Why should your grass be someone else’s problem? Working together on small issues we can make big differences.

Residential waste collection will run as scheduled this month.

City-Wide Clean-up is scheduled for October 1-5. Start making plans!

Tuesday, September 18th is the first day to circulate nomination papers for aldermanic candidates in McLeansboro for the April 2, 2019 Consolidated Election (10 ILCS 5/10-4, 10-6; 615 ILCS 90/5). Additional information is available online at https://elections.il.gov/InforForCandidates.aspx.

Utility credit card payments can now be made online.
